About the Director

RICK IMUS – guitar and vocals
Rick Imus is thrilled (and slightly gobsmacked) to celebrate 10 years as a founding member of the mature student project, $2 Bills. His key contributions were suggesting the band’s name and stepping away from mic #1 when Domenic joined.
Imus, as his sons call him, has performed at Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, NY, Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton, ON, the National Guitar Museum in Pittsburgh and other places with pay parking.
His compositions have been staged at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, and aired internationally on CBC Radio and Radio Molossia from suburban Las Vegas. His single was tops on the Off-Off-Strip charts for 41 minutes.
Mr Imus, as teens at the youth drop-in centre address him, has produced recordings at Sun Studio in Memphis, FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Electric Lady Studios in NYC. He continues to wonder why it’s called producing, when it’s really directing, like it is for movies.
As an executive, he has produced an All Star Concert at Mattamy Theatre in Milton, launched PorchFest Milton, and advised the Royal Conservatory of Music on their Electric Guitar curriculum, which is also 10 years in the making. He advised them to move faster than the pace of continental drift.
Honey, as his wife refers to him, earned a degree in Jazz Studies from Thompson Rivers University in BC, a diploma from the London College of Music in the UK and a participation ribbon from the Downsview Motorcycle Training School. He has the X-Rays to explain the latter.
In his spare time, he’s an award-winning executive at Rick Imus Music Studio. The award was for Least Silent Partner.
Doppio Long Espresso, as his baristas call him, is an active member of the Historic Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo, the North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents, and CAA.
