The pitch of each note is identified with a letter from the musical alphabet. The musical alphabet uses the first seven letters of our alphabet.

Run eight notes through the musical alphabet and you will return to the original letter, one octave higher. “Oct” meaning eight.

As each word in English contains at least vowel, each word from the musical alphabet will have an “A” or “E.”
